As always I like to recap on the past month’s posts, going on’s, and general happenings. This is usually a quick review of where I felt I succeeded and sometimes failed.
I was back on track during the month of July being able to post twice a week every week. Normally this would not be something to comment on but after last month, I felt it important to highlight.
Consistency is something I’d like to highlight in today’s post. I’ve talked before about the benefits of consistency in sales and what can happen when you aren’t consistent.
When you think about it, success in life is often based on consistency. Sometimes you get lucky, sure. But usually the good things in life happen because you stuck with the task at hand for long enough.
Through thick and thin you didn’t give up and it paid off.
One of the proudest moments in my life is when I earned my first degree black belt. It took me a long time and a lot of practice to earn the highest rank in martial arts. If I hadn’t been consistent in practicing, competing, and testing I never would have made it.
It would have been impossible.
Remember that the next time you feel like giving up. It may be hard and it may be uncomfortable. But it will definitely be worth it.

What’s New?
You may have noticed a couple of new deisgn features on the Sales Pro Blog. First of all is the landing page of www.salesproblog.com. I’m using a plugin called MaxA/B to test the landing page to see what works better for getting newsletter sign ups.
Are people more likely to sign up when there is a main landing page directing them to it or when they visit the blog page? Not sure how long I’ll keep the A/B testing going but if I get any usable data I’ll be sure to let you know.
And if you wouldn’t mind, let me know what you think of the landing pages. What you like, what you don’t like, and any comments you have.
Also you’ll notice I added am “As Seen On” section in the sidebar. I was invited to be a regular guest writer for CareerAttraction.com.

I had originally offered up my services as a guest blogging through HARO (Help A Reporter Out) which is a free service you can sign up for at www.helpareporter.com.
I approached the request and was accepted to write an initial article based around attending career fairs. Well I did such a great job that they’ve asked me to write regularly for them and I’ve even been featured on the Write For Career Attraction page.
My next post, and first as a featured writer, will go live sometime in the middle of August so stay tuned. I’ll also have another great resource ready to go for that release.
August is planning out to be a major month for this blog. Very exciting stuff.
Moving Forward
If you read the last post you know how strongly I feel about sales professionals starting their own blog. I’ve decided that I am going to start pushing blog creation as a central theme to being a successful sales person here at SPB.
This will be an all inclusive resource page that will explain the benefits of starting your own blog, but also step by step, in detail, How-Tos for beginning the journey.
I’m not saying this resource will be complete by the end of August. I may not even make the page live during the month. This is something I want to spend a lot of time and energy on. Think COMPREHENSIVE!
I want it to have everything a new sales professional would need to start their own sales blog.
If you have an opinion of what I should include or what you’d like to see in a resource like that please let me know in the comments below.
